Our Board of Directors 2024
Wendell H. Fields
Executive Director
Wendell H. Fields has a love for the game of baseball that started in 1973 and has spanned over 50 years. He demonstrates his strong commitment to the fundamentals of the game by working with youth in the community as commissioner of B Buzz Baseball League, which he re-established 11 years ago. In his role as commissioner of B Buzz, he gets to help shape not just superior athletes but superior citizens.
B Buzz Baseball does not just focus on leadership and sportsmanship of the game, but provides resources and wraparound services for his players, their families and the community. Using baseball as a vehicle to divert youth away from negative lifestyle choices while teaching self-esteem, teamwork, collaboration and many of the values he was introduced to as a youth that have guided him.
Wendell’s expansive career has allowed him to be a mortgage franchise owner, mortgage underwriter, director of marketing and drug treatment counselor for Key Decisions/Positive Choices Drug Treatment Program. Currently he serves as Community Resource Director @ Families First Health Services.
Wendell attended Kent State University in the early 1980’s which added to his baseball acumen and further prepared him for a career in business, leadership and management. However, nothing is more passionate to him than his role as a father and grandfather, along with the work he gets to do with helping shape the lives of the B Buzz Baseball youth.

Virgil L. Pittman
President
Virgil L. Pittman, Jr grew up in the Lee-Harvard area where B-Buzz Baseball has always been part of the community. After growing up, establishing a family and career, he has always wanted to give back to his community some of the wisdom that he has learned from the game of life and of course baseball.
With a wealth of knowledge of the game of baseball, along with learning other life skills from the careers he was blessed to be a part of and also learning to represent Jesus Christ through his daily living. Such as patience, humility, teamwork, discipline, teaching, integrity and love for all. Has helped him to become a valuable role model to encourage the youth and adults to a better way of living.
Even though every day is still a learning process for him it is also a great opportunity to share these wonderful gifts to uplift others wherever he may be. That’s why he is passionate when he is able to be in the presence of young adults.
